Along its coastline with the turquoise and emerald green waters of the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas, Maremma's most northern-most point is at Castiglioncello (just south of Livorno). Then her coast runs south past Piombino, into the Golfo di Follonica, and thence towards Rome into the region of Lazio, to the port of Civitavecchia.
