Dolci "fatti in casa" - the homemade desserts


Sfogliatina alle Fragole Fresche
Puff pastry with fresh strawberries.

Torta di Riso
A sweet custard, ground almond and rice cake.

Crostata di Marmellata di Prugne
A prune jam and pastry tart.

Torta della Nonna
"Grandmother's Cake" and also known as Torta di Pinoli: a Tuscan and Roman classic cake with pine nuts.

Tronco al Cioccolato (Nutella)
A Nutella Swiss Roll.

Tiramisu
A sponge (or sponge biscuits - "savoiardi") soaked/dipped in expresso coffee and layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks, mascarpone, and sugar, and topped with cocoa.

Panna Cotta
An Italian cooked cream (made with gelatin) with chocolate or fruits of the sauce topping.

Crema Catalana
A creamy egg custard topped with demerara sugar and a dash of liqueur. It arrives impressively at the table alight with a huge blue flame and is one of my very favourites. :)

Sorbetti Artigianali
Hand-made sorbets.

Tartufu al Cioccolato Artigianale
Hand-made artisan chocolate truffle gateau.

Cantucci e Vin Santo
Hand-made double-baked almond biscuits to dip in the Vin Santo liqueur.

 

 

The restaurant often serves additional "dolci", such as wedges of fresh ripe pineapple, or "tasting sorbetti" - a plate of individual small glasses filled with different handmade fruit sorbets.
