A true Bed and Breakfast Alberese accommodation within the spectacular and protected "Parco Regionale della Maremma", Maremma Nature Park, is hard to find.
This family-run farmhouse with agriturismo accommodation in Tuscany also offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation and has its own on-site organic produce shop, ideal for stocking-up on fresh picnic, lunch or dinner supplies.
Il Duchesco
Agriturismo Il Duchesco is run by Cristina and Fabio Duchini and is a "fattoria biologica", an organic farm. In 2005, it was the first Guesthouse in Italy and Europe to be awarded with the Ecolabel Certification for environmentally friendly and sustainable products and services.
There are ten double rooms, each with an independent entrance, small garden with table and chairs, private bathroom with shower (and hairdryer), fridge and television.
The buffet breakfast comprises of their own home-made cakes, organic jams, yoghurt, bread, ham, and cheese.
You can hire electric bikes from them for a great trip along the purpose-built cycling track that takes you from the town of Alberese into the nature park of the Marina di Alberese, with its beautiful long white sand beach and views of three Grand Duke of Tuscany medieval towers along the Tyrrhenian coast.
They also offer personalized group bike tours, including car assistance.
