Fattoria di Casalappi

Agriturismo Venturina, Campiglia Marittima

Fattoria di Casalappi

The Fattoria di Casalappi: farmhouse accommodation in Tuscany. Wow! what can I say?

Late one afternoon, out on a drive to explore some more of Maremma, I came across this agriturismo. It was one of those moments when you know in your heart that it is important ... I'm not talking about work here, but something that tells you that it is important for you.

(Just like when I walked for the first time inside the walls of San Gimignano and knew in those moments that it was a special place. I returned four years later and felt the same all over again. Returned again. And then again, and found the love of my life... )

Needless to say, I stopped the car rather quickly and ventured into the grounds.

The lady in reception was just leaving and apologised that she had very little time - it was clear that she needed to be somewhere - but, as for many Maremmani I have met, she nonetheless smiled very warmly, took the time to listen and give me the information I was seeking. Plus an invitation to return: I will.

In the meantime, this is the contact information about the Fattoria. When I have visited again, I will return to this page and write some more.

Later that afternoon I drove back through Casalappi - I wanted to return home via that road, rather than another... and found directly opposite the Fattoria, the entrance road to the medieval Castello di Casalappi - Casalappi Castle.

Wow! again. I drove up the private road, found the owner in the courtyard... and was invited on a tour... click here to read more.
