The Il Sole Hotel Massa Marittima is located within the historic centre of the town, in one of the "old town" medieval buildings, along one of the main thoroughfares from the Duomo di San Cerbone.
The advantage of staying at this hotel is that you are located right in the centre of one of Maremma's most beautiful old cities, within feet of a wide selection of bars and restaurants and its stunning asymmetrical central Piazza.
But what you gain from its location you loose in terms of comforts and amenities. For the inside of this hotel is very dated and, although the hotel offers private parking, as often as not it is unavailable.
I would highly recommended that you read the reviews of those who have stayed here before you book - the link to them is at the bottom of this page.
The good news is that if you are happy to walk, literally, a couple of minutes, there are other hotels to choose from, from which you can readily reach this central street and the piazza. Both in "new town" Massa Marittima - which despite what you might at first imagine isn't a modern urban extension of this beautiful medieval and Rennaisiance city, built as it was in the middle ages too after "old" town, and there belies a wonderful rich history about the connection of the two for another page! - and within a stones throw of the cities impressive medieval walls and entrance gates.
