The Country Villas Fattoria Le Guardiole near Capalbio provides luxurious guest rooms and wide-open spaces for a quality stay in La Maremma: in the reception, the level of services and in the food served. Here the beauty of the structure is combined with a friendly welcome and attention to customer needs. In the environment of the lush and unspoiled Maremma, without neglecting attention to territory, we provide good services and serve quality products from the local area, if not the estate itself.

The Fattoria Le Guardiole surprises the visitor with its open spaces, which city dwellers are often no longer used to. At the heart of the estate is the Medici Villa Lorenzo, masterfully restored in the the color "rosso casale toscano" (red farmhouse): the traditional color of Tuscan country houses. With which the farmhouse, church, and other buildings have also been painted.

This farm, located in the southernmost tip of Tuscany, in the hinterland of Capalbio, allows guests to wander across the 160 acres of its estate: the pasture, cereals, vineyards and olive groves. But also space between the lands of Maremma: Capalbio is only 10 minutes by car, 30 minutes there is the "tombolo" of Giannella and the seaside resorts of Monte Argentario. Or, inland, the thermal baths of Saturnia.

The Villa Accommodation

After leaving the highway, the signs on the estate guide visitors along a dirt road access to the farm, via the Reception, at which point the estates beautiful lake, up to six feet deep and used for fishing sports, suddenly comes into view. Arriving at the parking lot, the view opens onto a wide green lawn and large rectangular pool, around the edges of which deck chairs invite guests to relax.

Upon the pool is reflected the Villa, in which are the rooms for guests. The recent restoration of this building has been designed with great care and commitment: using materials which are are at the same time of quality and local. Such as the gray stone called "maremmina" which was used to coat the external stairs, or the precious "Pietra Dorata" (golden stone), that dresses the bathrooms.

The common areas of the Villa and its junior suites are dominated by bright tones of gold. Attention to detail characterizes the 10 guest rooms that are located in this building: doors in oak, beech floors, bathrooms with bath-tub or shower with seat.

The rooms are air conditioned and decorated with different antiques for each junior suite. Four of them have a terrace for sunbathing or enjoying the view of the surrounding landscape. Two rooms are specially designed for the stay of persons with disabilities.

There are also three rooms in the Fattoria (farm), opposite the Villa and above the dining room, with air conditioning and a wood stove. Warm and cozy rooms, with tiled floors, bathrooms with shower corner and simple rustic furniture in the pure style of art of poor Tuscany.

In the second core of the estate, the "Casale" (cottage), there are six rooms, which are characterized by brown hues used in the interior of the Tuscan farmhouse. They are furnished in the simple Tuscan style, with air conditioning, ceiling fan and fireplace or wood stove. In the porch of the cottage the view extends over the surrounding rolling hills and here you can sit during the summer, enjoying a drink or a snack. In the communal hall intrance to the six rooms there is a space for socializing, with a fireplace and books available to guests.

To the side of the cottage there are the apartments (two of two rooms and one of three) each with an equiped veranda, where you can relax or enjoy a meal, and a private garden. The dominant decoration tone is a soothing cream color complimenting the color of the wooden ceiling beams. Guests will find in these apartments (sitting room, bedroom and bathroom) fan, wood stove and furniture in "arte povera".

Next to the apartments is them is an original pool built in a natural amphitheater, equipped with whirlpool tub and tailored for children.

Gastronomy

One of the strengths of Country Villas Fattoria Le Guardiole is the offer of tasty food. The restaurant "La Godenda", located next to the villa and opposite the main swimming pool, welcomes guests but also visitors in search of gastronomic delights. It offers regional dishes that combine tradition with creativity and technical chef de cuisine. The quality of the dishes comes from the ingredients themselves, largely directly from the farm: the meat of Maremma cows or farm animals bred on the estate. The wine, olive oil, and rose hips, produced on the estate according to the techniques of organic farming.

The farm wine is a Maremma Toscana IGT. The restaurant wine list offers with pride Tuscan wines and above all Maremmani: which, combined, offer the most famed of wines.

Some of the signposted Italian Alpine Club routes pass along the nearby roads which are quiet and traffic-free. Those who practice sport fishing can not help but love the lake, and bike enthusiasts will find bread for their legs.

Are you tireless explorers, curious tourists, or just the long periods sat still are not for you? The unspoilt seaside resorts such as Giannella, Ansedonia and bays of Monte Argentario are waiting to reveal their beauty, while the natural oasis of Orbetello and Burano are a must for nature lovers.

Nostalgia for the vitality of town? Porto Santo Stefano and Orbetello await you. And Capalbio, a few miles, or further inland the medieval villages of Sorano and Pitigliano. The hot springs and sulphurous waters of Saturnia are within minutes. The golfers are spoiled for choice between the various golf courses are located at reasonable distances from the villa.

The Country Villas Fattoria Le Guardiole is also an excellent starting point for an itinerary that includes archaeological Sovana (near Pitigliano), Vulci (in Viterbo) or Roselle, known to connoisseurs of the Etruscan civilization. Do not miss, finally, the amazing Tarot Garden, an art park that houses the original sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle.

The following prices are per room per night and are inclusive of breakfast. If you are travelling alone it is great to know that at La Fattoria Le Guardiole there is no additional supplement: the price per room pr night is reduced by 20%.
